Summer Academy
From Concept to Commerce: A brilliant new way to get into LiveCode for the first time

Academy

The LiveCode Summer Academy kicked off on 9th May, and we've now had two Webinars and are starting to see how its all taking shape. I'm delighted to say that it seems to be going extremely well! Feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive. It's been a new experience for me, running an online course like this, creating and presenting Webinars and managing the associated forum. I'm starting to get comfortable with it now, and your comments have helped a lot. Of course there have been a few wrinkles and minor teething troubles, as with any new project, but we've tried to implement suggestions to make everything run more smoothly for you, and ensure that everyone can participate to the full.

The first Webinar covered the basics, introducing LiveCode and taking students through concepts such as "what is a card, how do I add a button, and what is this field of which you speak". I also talk about the message path, a concept essential to using scripting effectively. If you've never used LiveCode, this Webinar is valuable early viewing, and will be extremely useful to get you off to a flying start. At least, that's the feedback I'm getting from our new users!
