No, nor have I. I've been told there is a bug in QuickTime (I have 
not tried the most recent version of it.)

Another workaround is:

   if the platform = "win32" then
     get queryRegistry("hkey_classes_root\soundRec\shell\record\command\")
     put word 1 to -2 of it into lyd
     launch lyd
   end if
