   lock screen
   put field "HTML" into temp
   set the htmlText of field "HTML" to temp
   put the rtfText of field "HTML" into field "TEXT"
   put temp into field "HTML"
   unlock screen

I could still be mixed up on what you want.

Of course this won't work with real html and rtf, just the pidgin 
versions used for field text descriptions.
