According to Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bracket_(punctuation), the () [], {} and <>
are all considered to be "brackets", but the common names are:
() Parentheses
[] Square Brackets
{} Braces
<> Angle Brackets
with alternate names as follows:
() Round Brackets, Curved Brackets, Parens, Fingernails
[] Crochets (in Great Britain, apparently)
{} Curly Brackets
